São João del-Rei - a reference town in Exchange and Language Travel

A FAM Tour has just happened in Sao Joao del Rei, with the presence of a group of specialists in international education. The visitors marveled at the beauty of the city and praised the local language schools. On a visit to the campuses, they were also impressed by the size, complexity and organization of the Federal University of Sao Joao del Rei. The photos above show visits to the Baptista Caetano Library of Rare Books and Arthur Azevedo Theater Club Archives, guided by Prof. Alberto Tibaji; The Koelreuter Foundation, by Prof. Nichola Dittrich; UFSJ Cultural Center, by Vice-Provost Prof. Marcos Vieira, and the UFSJ General Presentation done by Prof. Adelaine LaGuardia, Director of International Relations.

São João del-Rei - a reference town in Exchange and Language Travel

"It is with great enthusiasm that we introduce Sao Joao del Rei to the world. This charming university town, 2007 Brazilian capital of culture, is surrounded by the beautiful hills of the Lenheiro and São José Sierras, with their rich fauna and flora ..." . Tatiana Visnevski Mendes de Carvalho, former President of the Brazilian Association of Educational and Cultural Travel Organisers - BELTA - thus justified the choice of our town as a destination to be prepared by the Ministry of Tourism to become a national reference in the International Studies and Exchange segment. That was two years ago. Today, we are proud to say the town has become even more attractive, thanks to the coordinated effort of many partners, which has helped place it as an excellent option for students and exchange visitors interested in the Portuguese language and Brazilian culture. We have a very rich history and a population that values its own way of being and living. In the Catalog of Educational Programs and Tourist Activities we list the best we can offer in terms of short-term courses and complementary activities designed for the international public. In the posts that follow, we highlight some of the courses that were presented to the market successfully during the 2010 NAFSA Conference and Expo in Kansas City, United States. Here you can also find information on the tourist attractions that place São João del-Rei in the core of Brazilian history and cultural heritage. Check it out and enjoy yourself!
